Trial Bundle Preparation Made Easy - Video

A few years back we wrote a post all about trial bundles. We covered everything from what a trial bundle is; what is their purpose and why they’re important. If you didn’t get a chance to check it out, here is it: “Trial Bundles: Everything You Need To Know“. In that post we briefly touched on the steps needed to create a trial bundle. As we know that trial bundle preparation is a struggle for so many, we wanted to create a post to show you the simple way to prepare bundles using Bundledocs. Let’s jump right in…

How to Prepare a Trial Bundle using Bundledocs

(Don’t fancy reading today? Watch our short 2 minute video to see how it works!)

STEP ONE: CREATE & STRUCTURE YOUR TRIAL BUNDLE

To prepare our trial bundle we first need to create the structure. Easily create sections, sub-section and even volumes. You have complete control and can name the sections as you like. Need to make a change? Just double click! Bundledocs even offers the ability to create templates for your trial bundles which will save you even more time.

STEP TWO: ADD & NAME YOUR TRIAL DOCUMENTS

Now that we've created the structure for our bundle, the next step is to add our trial documents. Using the upload button you can access your documents and upload them into your sections. You can upload documents from anywhere - your local pc, an online storage system (like Dropbox or Box); and we even have integrations with case/document management systems such as iManage, Tikit Partner for Windows, NetDocuments, Dropbox, Actionstep - to name just a few. Discover more about our integration partners.

STEP THREE: CUSTOMISE YOUR TRIAL BUNDLE

Now that we’ve created our sections and added our documents, we’re ready to customise our bundle to make sure it fits our firms house style, meets practice directions etc. There are many ways you can customise your trial bundle, however, if you need any help getting it just right then get in touch with our team.

Here are a few ways you can customise your trial bundle using Bundledocs:

Cover Page: Upload a custom cover page or let Bundledocs generate one for you.

Index Page: The days of manually creating an index page for your trial bundle is over. With a single click your index (or table of contents) page is created for you. It’s even hyperlinked too so you can quickly and easily search your casebook. Click and you're there!

Page or Bates Numbering: Paginating your trial bundle is done instantly. There are a number of ways you can customise it to make sure you get it just right.

STEP FIVE: DOWNLOAD OR SHARE ELECTRONICALLY

That’s it! When you are ready to complete your trial bundle, simply click the Generate button. Your bundle will be instantly available and can be shared electronically directly from Bundledocs, or downloaded printed and saved. Do whatever works for you.

Interested to learn more about Bundledocs trial bundle software? We offer free online demonstration where we can take you through exactly how it all works. There’s no obligation and it only lasts about 15 minutes. Otherwise, we can get you setup with a FREE 30 day trial account so give it a try and see if it suits.

Bundledocs New Feature Release - December 2018

Can you believe we’ve come to our last New Feature Release post of the year. We’ve gathered together some of our exciting new updates for you to check out so keep on reading.

Double sided printing just got easier

Making the move to a less paper office is simple. Whether you want to go completely paperless or would prefer to still use paper copies of your bundles, with Bundledocs there is no choice - you can do it all.

It’s easy. All bundles are automatically produced in electronic format that can be easily printed with the click of a button. But what if you need to print double sided?

From speaking with our clients, we know double sided printing can be a pain. That’s why we introduced our vacat pages feature earlier this year. This allows you to force the first page of each section to the right (if it doesn’t already appear there).

Following on from this, it is now possible to apply vacat pages to each document in your bundle. Similarly, this will force the first page any document to the right. Magic!

Make sure to download a copy of our Bundledocs User Guide for full details.

What does this button do again?

Collaborating with others on your bundle is simple with Bundledocs. We offer a wide range of features from securely forwarding your bundle to anyone (regardless of file size), working in groups or collaborating with anyone on your bundle.

When it comes to securely collaborating with external third parties, we have introduced some handy new features to help make it easier for first time users.

Now if you don’t know what a button/option does, simply hover over the button and a simple description will appear. The best bit? As there are only 6 buttons, getting familiar with using Bundledocs will be a breeze!

Sound good? Login to Bundledocs now and give it a try for yourself.

Numbering just how you like it

At Bundledocs we want to ensure you have everything you need to create the perfect bundle. Whether you want to change your index, change your page numbering or change the export options, it can all be done.

In our latest release, we have added another enhancement to our index customization option. So what can you do now?

As you may be aware, section numbering currently can be set to either numerical or alphabetical. For example it can appear as Section A, B, C or as Section 1, 2, 3 etc.

Moving on from this, we wanted to give you even more flexibility. Now you can set a ‘First Display Order Number‘ for your bundle. So whether you want to begin at Section 7, Section D, or Section 77 - it’s all possible with a click of a button.

Have you a specific format you want to create or any queries on the type of bundle you need to create? Get in touch with our awesome support team today!

That’s a wrap for 2018! If you would like to review any of our previous New Feature Release posts, then we’ve included some of our latest below for you to check out. If there is anything else you need to know, then get in touch with us today. We love to hear from you!

Bundledocs is an Approved UK Government G-Cloud 10 Provider

Great News! We’re delighted to have been selected as an approved court bundle software provider in the UK Gov G-Cloud Framework.

If you’re a local authority or in-house legal team looking for a solution to help with the creation of court bundles, then this is for you. Head over to the Digital Marketplace to see our profile in full.

Late Inserts Just Got Better

As you may be aware, Bundledocs have developed a unique and powerful feature that we like to call - Late Inserts. This works great at times where your don’t want to disrupt the existing index page and page numbering. With Late Inserts you can then add alternative numbering sequence to your bundle and Bundledocs will automatically update your index page and page numbers.

In our latest release, we’ve made our late inserts feature even better. It’s now possible to make your late inserts either alphabetical or numerical. Customising your bundle to match court requirements or practice house styles is now simple.

Want a quick recap of how late inserts work? Check out our Bundledocs Late Inserts Explained - Feature Focus post for a quick recap.

Want to give it a go for yourself? If you’re already a Bundledocs user simply sign in to your account. If not, then avail of our free 30-day trial to see for yourself.

Bundledocs_New_Feature_Release_July_2018.png

New Ways to Zip

When it comes to creating bundles, we've got you covered. As you may know you can already instantly generate your bundle in PDF format but did you know you can also create zip files? This is ideal for those that want to share files with others or for any firm that uses printing rooms.

Although our 'Generate as Source Zip' feature has been around for a while, over the last few development releases we have expanded the features to make it even better.

So what's new? In this months release, it is now possible to:

  • Include Sub-Folders: By selecting 'Generate Zip with Sub-Folders' you can replicate your entire folder structure in your zip file. It will automatically create all folders, sub-folder and include all documents in their relevant sections.
  • Include Full Completed Bundle: By default, our zip files contain a hyperlinked index page that will open all documents in their original format. With our latest release, you now have the option to include the full generated PDF bundle in your zip file. Just click the 'Generate Zip with Full Bundle' to include it.

If you've not yet had a chance to check out our 'Create a Zip of your Bundle' video before now then go check it out.

Rotate any Document

Last month we announced some exciting developments for anyone interested in document manipulation. Bundledocs now includes handy features like merging, splitting, de-skewing and rotating documents as standard. Even better, it works for every document uploaded not just pdf's.

This month we have expanded our rotate options further so you can now...

  • Rotate documents by 90 degrees, 180 degrees and 270 degrees.
  • Reset your document back to their original display.

Ready to give it a go for yourself? Access Bundledocs now and get your documents moving.

Two Factor Authentication

Last but certainly not least, this month sees the release of Bundledocs Two Factor Authentication. Two Factor Authentication (2FA) allows you add an additional layer of security to your Bundledocs account. We would highly recommend all our users enable 2FA on their accounts for better security and peach of mind.

Whether you are litigant in person or large enterprise, 2FA is available to you.

For full details on how to enable and activate Bundledocs Two Factor Authentication on your account, get in touch with our support team to get a copy of our 'Two Factor Authentication User Guide'.
