Last month we were thrilled to launch our new integration partnership with Quill’s Interactive legal case and document management software. Quill, one of the UK’s largest legal software providers, and our latest integration makes it simple to create case bundles, document booklets or electronic binders. Better still, as we’re both cloud-based you can work on the go and produce bundles from any location, any time, from any device. What could be better!

How to Create a Case Bundle from Interactive

follow these 5 simple steps to create case bundles on the go

  • Step One: Create a new bundle with the click of a button.

  • Step Two: Next add sections. You can create as many sections, sub-section or volumes as needed.

  • Step Three: Once you have created your sections, it’s time to add your documents. You can upload files from any location - including Interactive. Easily search matters, filter folder results and upload single documents or a range of documents at once.

  • Step Four: Once you have uploaded your documents from Interactive, you can finalise any customisations and generate your bundle. There are a range of options available including: adding a custom title page, custom index page, adding watermarks, restarting page numbering or applying bates numbering etc.

  • Step Five: This is the best bit. Bundledocs automatically collates all your documents (regardless of file type) into a single PDF case bundle. It creates a full table of contents/index page that is hyperlinked, your bundle is bookmarked and each page fully paginated. Need to make a change? Simply re-generate and everything is re-indexing and re-numbered again for you - instantly!

Bundledocs_Bundle_Include_Email_Attachments.png

Recently our support team had a number of inquiries from new users asking if it’s possible to upload emails with attachments and have the attachments show in the bundle. Following this we thought we would create a short post and show you how it’s done.

I am creating a bundle for court that contains lot of email correspondence. Many of the emails have attachments. Can Bundledocs show both the email and attachment? Or will I need to upload the attachments manually?

Tab Leaders Now Supported for custom index

Since launching our Custom Indexing feature, we are continuing to add more and more ways that you can customise your index page. This month we added support for paragraph tab leaders. If you’re not already using Bundledocs Custom Indexing then get in touch.

Metadata for your Custom Index

In our August Development Roundup we announced that Bundledocs now supports metadata. This is great for your system admin, developer or super user as it allows you to store a dictionary of key/value pairs against bundles, sections and documents which is useful for templates and integrations. This month, we’ve added to this. Now it’s possible to reference Metadata fields at the bundle level in a custom index. Simply reference any Metadata field using the familiar “@” notation and the metadata field value will be pulled into the custom index when generating the bundle.

All features highlighted above are available in your account now so be sure to login to Bundledocs and download a copy of our manual for full details.

How Do I Create a Subsection with Bundledocs?

Bundledocs offers so many ways for you to order, format and customise your documents. No matter what type of bundle or document booklet you are creating, many of you will need to organise your documents into sections. But did you know you can easily create subsections and multiple sectioned bundles with Bundledocs. If you want to know how to create a subsection, then keep on reading.

How To Create a Subsection for your Bundle

Creating sections and sub-sections is really easy. We find it’s often easier to see it in action so we’ve created a short video so you can see how to create subsections in Bundledocs.

  1. Rename Section. To rename any section all you need to do is double click. This works for documents too!

  2. Create Sections. Simply use the ‘Create Section‘ button to add additional sections to your bundle. Anytime you need to create a subsection, you must first create a section, so this is where you start.

  3. Arrange Documents. If you have already uploaded documents into another section, not to worry. You can easily arrange files by dragging or dropping. We’ve even introduced our ‘Move with a Click‘ feature to make it even easier to move multiple documents at once.

  4. Create Subsection. To create a subsection, simply drag and drop the section you want to into the section above. In our example, the section above (i.e. Reports) is already open/expanded so we simply need to drag the section to the right to create our sub-section.

Remember, you can create as many sections, subsections and volumes as you need. So create your bundle early in the case and build as you go. No need to wait until the last minute.

Working with Sections: Top Tips

If you’re new to Bundledocs or simply are interested in learning more about sections and subsections, we’ve gathered together some of our top tips. You’ll be a pro in no time!

  • Save. When working with sections, subsections and volumes, we would always recommend saving as you go. Simply press the ‘Save‘ button. This will automatically re-number everything when your moving sections and documents.

  • Expand/Collapse. Did you know you can easily expand/collapse sections using the arrow to the left of your sections. Expand to view documents or any subsections. There’s even a expand/collapse button at the top of your screen so you can instantly open/close all sections at once. Find out more: Easily Expand/Collapse All Bundledocs Sections

  • Upload into a Section/SubSection. In our video we showed you how to move documents from one section to another. However, you can easily choose what section you want to upload documents on upload. Find out more: Can I upload files into a specific folder / section?

  • Use Templates. Templates are great for anyone creating the same types of bundles again and again. Using templates you can create the structure of your bundle (set sections and subsections) and save customisation settings too. Saving you time and effort.
